The airway: Nasal Cavity—filters, warms, and humidifies air; Oral Cavity—secondary passage for air; Pharynx—common passage for air and food; Larynx—voice box that protects the airway; Trachea—windpipe; Bronchi—main airways into each lung; Bronchioles—smaller branches that distribute air; Alveoli—tiny air sacs where gas exchange occurs; alveoli close-up labels alveoli and capillaries.

September 2026 registrar teaching plan

This month we focus on airway skills, lungs and ultrasound theory / practice. This is a 5 week teaching plan with registrar presentations scheduled in Weeks 1, 3 and 5. Please see below for those presenting and start prepping early. All presenters have been notified already.
